The Caitian Atrox Carrier looks and feels more Caitian then the way the species is depicted in the game. One of them made an appearance in Star Trek IV: The Voyage home at Admiral Kirks Trial and looked more like a member of an alien species then an animal (as they appear in the game).
If you look down on the ship from the front (so at an angle) it looks like the Nose, eyes and forehead region of the North American Lion scientifically known as the Panthera Leo Atrox. Oh and good show |

The Episode was a bit short....it should have been titled "sample the rainbow"
The Caitian Atrox Carrier would probably feel more like one if the "COLORS" where different even if the designer/s where trying to make it represent the nose and eyes of a cat the colors are not. A ship design like this needs a bit more eye candy or visual effects to help it feel more like a feline representation...for example in the Nacelles and Deflector...the lights should have had pulse to them that make the lights and colors change like when a cat's eyes shift colors when the lighting in a room changes or when you shine a flash light on a cat in the dark.... Or in the Shields...the shields could have looked and acted like a cat's eye: see in the image how the different greens and yellows in the eye are?...well the shield could have had an effect where the the colors would be shifting in a pulse like movement from the left and right coming from the bottom and meeting at the top of the shields to make it seem like if it where a pupil in a cat's eye when it closes but in a very faint way not making it too obvious that it looks like a cat's eye....Since this ship design looks like an mix of ships put together to SOME extent and can't be reverted. I guess giving it some more visual effects would make it feel more like a Caitian Ship...Like if you where to remove all the colorful feathers on a Peacock, then the peacock would look like any other bird....in the case of this ship then you have to add visuals to make not seem like a Remen/Romulan/Defiant/Hand Vac/Phaser.... Just my 2 cents on the matter....the ship is still an awesome addition to the game.
