So I finally decide to come back to STO to see whats been going on with the game after a couple months off and I am treated to this development. Not only are the forums I have known for over 2 years basically gone (archived I guess), but so is my display name apparently. And here I thought all the ugliness of the buyout/f2p stuff was over and done with.

So assuming I can't have the same display name I have always had (or the shorter version Crichton instead of John.Crichton) can I get some suggestions for something newish? I still want to be recognizable. What about captcrichton? Looks kinda dumb to me, but I dunno, no capitalization is the new lame we get from PWE along with no punctuation marks or symbols. Then again, maybe I can just put in a signature formerly John.Crichton

I might end up waiting anyway since some of the comments on that post mention peoples accounts getting jacked up. I didn't see any email regarding this change, and now it might not be going off without a hitch go-figure.

Btw, sorry if this post comes off overly angry, but I wanted to check in on the game and the forums real quick and instead I get this bs.

I would suggest, just keep trying to see whats available.

As for the anger, you should have seen the forums on the first day, hoo boy, Rage was the word of the day. So many things to be upset about, the hardest thing was deciding what to focus on complaining about first.

All related to the forum/account change? Or did I miss something else really horrible?

Actually I am going to wait until any possible issues have been resolved and potentially just ignoring it until it's mandatory.
