Mark

Mark, AKA Spark, was born on the 25^th of March 1988 and currently resides near Glasgow, Scotland. As a self proclaimed “Voyager Boy,” he tells us that he can remember when he was 7 and turning on VOY late at night and watching it when he went to bed. Although his parents were not into Star Trek, they did allow him to stay up late to watch it… the “benefits of puppy dog eyes and being an only child.” He loved the show because it was science based and found the CG scenes the best part; he even enjoyed the comical aspect. There is no surprise that Janeway is favorite captain; “she is headstrong, commanding, and not afraid of a comical one line – ‘there’s coffee in that nebula’” being one of his favorite quotes.

STO is Mark’s first and only MMO he has ever played. He did not like the idea of a paid, monthly subscription so when the “Lifetime Deal” was announced, he jumped at the opportunity. He heard about STO when it was under Perpetual and thought the screenshots and artwork were “awesome.” As Cryptic took over, his interest continued. He was ecstatic that he would be able to plat in the Trek Universe and thought “who wouldn’t want to fly about in their own starship blowing up the Borg?

Mark’s favorite hobby is music, “music is [his] life and in [his] blood.” He plays Piano often and has even gone to the extent of getting a Star Trek music book with movie and TV theme songs. His favorite movie is “Legally Blonde” because it reminds him of himself: slightly ditzy but rises to the challenge – friends say he is a “Student Teacher” version of Elle. Mark’s favorite food, which is one of the ways to his heart, is Italian.
